Pilot systems are not only used for testing and developing new products and recipes. They are also suitable for the production of small but special products. In addition to the flexibility and high adaptability for a wide range of raw materials, the major advantage is the short installation time. Most plants are delivered to the customer pre-assembled and almost completely piped and wired. This means that the plant is ready for use as soon as it is connected to the appropriate operating medium, saving installation and commissioning time. The recipes and parameters generated in this way can be easily scaled to larger DEVEX process plants at a later date.

A recent example of the success of DEVEX pilot plants is the customer PT KIM in Indonesia, who opted for a flexible pilot plant for processing (extraction and evaporation) of plants for a new government-funded research centre. DEVEX customised the combined pilot extraction and evaporation plant to the specific requirements of the customer, who transported the plant to Jakarta by air freight. The plant now enables the development of plant extracts, tinctures and other products benefiting local value creation.
